Easter Sunday of The Lord’s Resurrection

21st April 2019

Easter Greeting: I wish a happy and holy Easter to all of you. May the blessings of the risen Lord be with you. I welcome home friends and members of your family who have come to spend the season with us. I hope you all have a pleasant and enjoyable time. Many thanks to all the people who helped out with the Easter ceremonies. I thank you all for all your help. I hope the celebration of the glorious resurrection of our Lord at the mass will renew the faith of our people. May we all realise the Lord has risen and is in our work and with each one of us. Like the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, may our hearts today burn within us, as Jesus still speaks to us and accompanies us on our way. Fr Joe

Easter Message from Fr Joe: I wish everybody a very happy and enjoyable Easter.

Easter is a holy time of year. Let us say the few prayers and realise that God is very near and close to us. His gentle presence always brings happness and joy to us. So I thank all who took part in the Easter ceremonies. It was pleasant to see the cross carried again this year from Cloonfad cemetery to the church. I compliment all the people involved. It was also pleasant to see the Passion of our Lord played out in drama in the church grounds of Ballinlough. A lot of hard work went into this. I know well it helped a number of people to realise more how much Jesus Christ suffered; his cruel death, that we might have eternal life. Congratulations to all involved. The Lord provided us with beautiful weather for the dawn mass at Lake O Flynn. So many people from the three church areas took part and attended. The rising sun, the fresh air of the morning, the beauty of nature all around us, encourages everyone to give glory and praise to God. The generosity of so many people helping out, making available what was needed can only be admired. May God reward everyone with peace and happiness.
