Tax Relief on Charitable Donations – The church as a registered charity can claim Tax Relief on donations made by all taxpayers.  This applies to both PAYE & self-employed since 2012.  If you paid tax in 2014 and donated more than €250 in the year to weekly collections and/or Priests Offerings, a refund of up to 31% of the gross donation can be claimed.  Donors are required to complete a simple form called a CHY4 which are available to download from the revenue website or just google “Form CHY4”.  Copies are also available at the church door.  This is an extremely valuable source of funds to the parish.  It actually costs the parishioners nothing and relief cannot be claimed by individual taxpayers themselves since 2012, so is completely lost unless claimed by the charity.  If you qualify we would kindly ask you to complete the CHY4 and return in a sealed envelope to Fr Joe or any member of the Church Finance Committee for claim processing within the next couple of weeks.  If you have any queries or need further information please contact David Kirrane 086 3974766 (evenings after 8pm).
