World meeting of Families – August 2018

As a preparation for this meeting of families and as a help to all families, there is a card from St. Joseph’s Cluster with suggestions, it is available at the back of the church and will also be given out at the doors of the church.   Please take one and give it a try.

Pilgrimage to Knock:  Our own Pilgrimage to Knock will be on Sunday, May 6th.  You might note the date.   We will be going to Fatima at the end of August after the Novena in Knock and the Family Celebrations.

New Year’s Cluster Mass: Many thanks to all who attended the St. Joseph’s Cluster New Year’s Mass on Monday last.

 

Granlahan Card Game.  The first card game of 2018 will take place on Monday night 8th January @ 8.30pm in the Community Centre.   Looking forward to seeing you all for the usual enjoyable game.   Many thanks for your continued support.

 

AGM of Active Retirement will be held on Tuesday 9th January at 2pm in Granlahan Community Centre.   Affiliation fees will be taken up on the day.   All members please attend and new members most welcome.

Catholic Schools Week begins Sunday 28th January.   The focus this year is on the family in preparation for the World Meeting of Families in Dublin 21-26th August.   Please God Pope Francis will be able to visit Ireland on this occasion.

Enrolment Night: Carrick NS will host an enrolment on Thursday 18th Jan. @ 7pm for parents hoping to enrol a child in Junior infants in Sept. 2018.   All new parents are welcome to attend on the night.   This will be an opportunity to meet the teachers, see our school and collect school enrolment pack. Enrolment forms will be available from the school throughout. the month of January.

 

Race Night:  The Michael Glavey’s Intermediate team fundraising race night is to be held on Saturday 13th January in Campbell’s Lounge, Ballinlough.   Your support would be greatly appreciated to help defray club expenses in the team’s venture in the All Ireland semi-final and hopefully beyond!  A great night guaranteed.   All cards, sponsor lists and monies to be returned to Club as soon as possible please.   Many thanks.

 

Backstage-Ireland Drama Workshop:  The Drama workshop for 7-13 year olds begins a new term at Cloonfad Community Centre on Thursday, 11th January.   Now in its second year, it runs every Thursday from 5pm-6pm and a small number of places are available for new students starting.
