All the children who received their First Holy Communion this year are invited to attend and take part in the ceremony.
The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is on Friday 23rd June. Many people have a great devotion to the Sacred Heart. It would be good and nice if people would organise and say the novena to the Sacred Heart in church for the nine days before the feast day. This novena starts on Thursday 15th June.

Father’s Day: Next Sunday is Father’s Day. A day to remember especially our own fathers: A day to enjoy the presence and love of your father, to say a prayer for them. Congratulations to them all.
Granlahan Sports Committee are holding a meeting on Monday night @ 9.30pm. The sports will be held on Sunday 25th June commencing at 2.30pm. As this event was cancelled last year due to weather, we hope all will come out and support this dun filled day.
Cake Sale in aid of Jack & Jill Playschool will be held on Sunday 18th June in the Parochial Hall, Ballinlough after the Corpus Christi Procession. All support greatly appreciated.
Open Day: Jack & Jill Community Playgroup are holding their Open Day for enrolment in Sept. 2017 on Friday 16th June from 11.30am-12.30pm. Active Retirement meeting on Tuesday 13th June @ 2pm in Youth Café, Ballinlough. Guest speakers will attend, All and new members welcome.
Cash for Clobber: There will be a cash for clobber collection at Carrick NS on Friday 16th June. Any bags of unwanted clothes you may have at home can be brought to the school before that date. As well as raising awareness of clothes re-use among children and highlighting the benefits of sending clothes that can be re-worn to the developing world, this is also a fundraiser for our school. All support welcome.
Pope Francis says that he is convinced that we have to break the vicious circle of anxiety and stem the spiral of fear resulting from a constant focus on bad news, wars, terrorism, scandals. Pope Francis proposed that all of us work at overcoming that feeling of growing discontent and resignation that can at times generate apathy.
Padraig Keane Memorial Race: The Padraig Keane Memorial 10K & 5K Run Around The Lake race will take place on Saturday 1st July @ 3pm. This year the race is in aid of The Kevin Bell Repatriation Fund and the Ballinlough/Granlahan Defibrillator Group. You can run, walk or jog, all categories catered for! So please come along and take part in this fun filled event. A special raffle will be held for all u16 participants.
Tochair Phádraig Pilgrim takes place on Saturday 24th June departing from Ballintubbger Abbey at 8.30am to Croagh Patrick. A unique pilgrim journey with a difference, walk in the footsteps of St. Patrick along the once royal Chariot Road. Contact Ballintubber office at 094 9030934 for more details.
