MESSAGE FROM THE DIOCESAN PLANNING GROUP

This group was established in 2018 by Bishop Neary to draw up a plan for the Tuam Dioceses for the years 2020 and beyond. It has 15 members, lay and ordained, drawn from all parts of the dioceses. To date it has listened to experiences of priests who have ministered in various parts of the world including New Zealand and Canada as well as having an imput from a representative of Killaoe Dioceses on the recent pastoral developments there.

The planning group has now decided to undertake a broad consultation within our own dioceses among communities, pastoral councils and priests. It is hoped that this consultation will have made significant progress between now and Autumn and so enable a draft Pastoral Plan for the Archdioces of Tuam to be drawn up, circulated and discussed, and to that end, will be in touch with priests and Pastoral Councils shortly.
