Next Wednesday is Ash Wednesday. This is the first day of Lent. It is above all a time of penance, when God asks us to think seriously about our faith. It is a time that focuses especially on the mercy and love of god. God is merciful. He is calling us to return, to come back to him.

    Cloonfad:    Wednesday  9.30am.

    Ballinlough:    Wednesday  10.15am.

    Granlahan:    Wednesday  7pm.

             (Ashes will be distributed at all these Masses.)

Saint Patrick’s Day in Granlahan:

The Children from Granlahan N.S. will play traditional Irish music at the 12 o’ clock mass in Granlahan church on Sunday March 17th. Come and join us in our celebration of the Feast of Saint Patrick.

Granlahan N.S. Enrolment 2019/2020:

Enrolment  packs for children starting in Junior Infants in Granlahan National School, next September, are now available at the school. Please call to the school at anytime during the school day.

Irish Kidney Association – wishes to thank all who contributed to the recent Church Gate collection. A sum of € 89.00 was collected.

Knock Shrine – One Day retreats & workshops, focussing on prayer, reflection, deepening of faith & spiritual rejuvenation.

Information Meeting about Exodus 90 Programme – There will be an information meeting on Monday March 4th, in the Alexian Brothers, Knock at 7pm. Bereavement Support Group: – The Knock Bereavement Support Group, which meets at the Family Centre, every Wednesday at 11am, will also meet on Wednesday evenings during Lent at 8pm. Local Link Mayo Rural Transport Services: – Ballyhaunis Community Council, is hosting a further meeting on Monday 4th of March at 8pm, in the Parochial Hall, to discuss potential new Local Link routes to & from Ballyhaunis. If you think your area needs such a service, you are invited to attend the meeting. The key next step will be surveying areas to assess whether there are sufficient numbers to launch, such a route.
