Trócaire wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the community who gave so generously to their Lenten campaign this year.  The contributions helped support their efforts in combating the constant threat of flooding in Honduras and helping children have clean water in East Africa.

 

Grandparents National Annual Pilgrimage takes place on September 10th in Knock Shrine @ 2.30pm   Everybody welcome to honour and thank grandparents alive and dead for all they have done for us down through the ages.   Chief celebrant Archbishop Martin.   Choir by Ballina School Choir and Dana sings “Our Lady of Knock.

Granlahan Community Centre committee are holding a meeting on Monday night 11th September@ 9.30pm regarding the sports that was held recently.   Please attend this important meeting.

 

Mayo/Roscommon Hospice:  The Kiltullagh branch are holding their hospice meeting in O’Connors Lounge, Ballinlough on Monday 11th September @ 8.30pm.   New members most welcome.

 

Coffee Morning:  The Kiltullagh branch of Mayo/Roscommon hospice are holding their annual coffee morning on Friday 15th September from 10am-12 noon.  Please come along and enjoy a cuppa while supporting this worthy cause, which is greatly appreciated.

 

Active Retirement Group are holding their first meeting after the summer break in Granlahan Community Centre on Tuesday 12th September @ 2pm.   Guest speaker will attend.   All welcome back and new members most welcome.

 

Crochet & Knitting Classes:  Pack away the summer beachwear and take out the knitting and crochet needles!   Crochet and knitting classes will restart in the Health Centre, Ballinlough at 3pm on Wednesday 13th September.   All welcome.

 

 

Handel’s Messiah – Knock Shrine.   Saturday 18th November @ 7.30pm sees the return of the RTE Concert Orchestra to present Handel’s iconic Messiah at Knock Basilica.   Conducted by Proinnsías Ó Dúinn with soloists, Soprano Claudia Boyle, Alto Anne Marie Gibbons, Tenor Julian Hubbard and Bass Christopher Cull together with our Lady’s Choral Society, CórMhaighEo and Ballina Chamber choir.   Presented by Liz Nolan, RTE lyric fm.
