Granlahan Sports committee are holding a sports meeting on Monday 11th July at 9.30pm in the Community Centre Granlahan. If more people don’t attend the meeting the sports will not go ahead this year. Please Support.

Reek Sunday – Croagh Patrick is situated 8kms south west of Westport town. The Book of Armagh 800AD states that St Patrick fasted forty days and forty nights on Croagh Patrick and also built a church there. Dr Healy, Archbishop of Tuam built an oratory there 1905.  Reek Sunday is on the last Sunday in July. Mass is celebrated every half hour and the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confessions) is always available.

 

The Annual Family focus week takes place at Knock Shrine form 9th – 15th July. It offers a programme of events developed to support & encourage families. A new remembrance garden will be blessed and dedicated to the memory of all deceased children on Saturday 9th July at 2pm. For full details contact 094 9375320.

 Fr Emilian visited our parish on 21st/22nd May to ask for our prayers for the success of their missionary work and also for financial help. Fr Emilian and the Rosminian Order that he belongs to now wish to thank all the people in the three church areas for the kind welcome you all afforded him and your generous contribution of €1568 that you contributed to help in their missionary work. Fr Emilian promises to remember you always in his prayers.
