Liam Lawton Concert will take place in Ballintubber Abbey on Friday 29th July at 8pm. Tickets €25 on sale at Abbey Office 09490 30934 or Downtown Records Castlebar & Westport.

Celebration Event: Dr Anne Chambers, Author/Lecturer will give a talk in Ballintubber Abbey on Monday 25th July@ 8pm on the Lord of Mayo, Tioboid na Long, the son of Grace O Malley, who is buried in the Sacristy of the Abbey. Duration will be 45 minutes with Q & A afterwards.  Admission is free on the night.

 

Knock Museum is delighted to host ‘HOME’ an exhibition of glass pieces made by Traveller women. The exhibition runs at Knock Museum from 21st July – 28th August and all are welcome. The museum is open daily from 10 – 6pm.

Pilgrim Walks from Ballintubber Abbey to Croagh Patrick take place on Reek Sunday 31st July departing the Abbey at 8.30am. A back-up car will accompany all the walkers to the end of Murrisk. Contact Ballintubber Abbey Office 094 9030934.

New Catholic UK TV Channel Launch: 12 hour Online-TV Celebration of the Life and Legacy of Mother Teresa:  An all – day online – TV Celebration of the life of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta will be held on Saturday 3rd Sept 2016 the day before her cannonisation.

 

It is with great delight that I pass on the news of two new clerical students for the up-coming academic term to study for the Arch-Diocese of Tuam. David Leija, born in Houston, Texas who worked in Athenry on the NET ministry team a couple of years ago. David is 26 years old and will be starting in the Irish College, Rome in August.  Eric Hynes, Aghamore, Ballyhaunis, a past pupil of Ballyhaunis Community School and GMIT Furniture and Design School in Letterfrack. Eric is 22years old, others studying for the Arch Diocese include Rev. Aidan Gallagher,  Gerard Quirke, Shane Costelloe, Ronan Armstrong and Pio Harnett.

 

Ballinlough and District commemorative committee will host the launch of the DVD Away Today and Abaze Tonight the historical presentation of the events of 1920 in Ballinlough, in Fitzmaurice’s bar, Ballinlough, on Friday 29th July at 9.30pm.  All welcome.
