Astro Turf Plaque at Carrick National School

Any other family or individual who would like to contribute €100 to the Astro Turf Pitch will have their names engraved on a special plaque to be unveiled at the official opening in a few weeks time.  Closing date has been extended to Friday 20th February.  Contact Joan on 086 805 3115.

The Irish Heart Foundation will hold their annual church gate collection on February 21st & 22nd.

Active Retirement Meeting will be held in Granlahan Community Centre on Tuesday 17th February at 3pm.  All members please attend.

Tax Relief Forms on charitable donations to the church are available at the doors of the churches.  Please fill in a form and return it as soon as possible.

Explore Your Creativity – Proposed new informal Creative Writing Group hope to meet on Friday evenings (weekly or fortnightly) commencing on Friday 27th February in the Williamstown area.  Open to all, from complete beginners to more experienced, providing an enjoyable and supportive environment to all writers whether poetry, fiction memoir or other.  For further details, please phone P.J. on 087 602 0880.

The 10th edition of New Dawn will be launched in Killeen Community Centre on Thursday 19th February at 8pm.  The launch will be performed by the youth of the parish.  Refreshments served.  You are warmly welcome.

Bishop Denis Nulty launches new ACCORD research on marriage and families.  65% agree that a child is more likely to grow up happy if raised in a home with a loving mother and father.  Most young people view marriage as a life-long commitment.  In recent years family has achieved increased importance in people’s lives.

BCS Lighthouse Bank – 7 Transition year students from Ballyhaunis Community School are competing in the “AIB Build a Bank” competition. They aspire to raise mental health awareness across the community and aim to help young people foundate themselves for a better financial future.  All proceeds raised throughout various events will be donated to the “Donal Walsh Live Life Foundation”.  If you would like to make a donation please contact 087 244 7477.  Your support would be greatly appreciated.
